Project Overview

The Challenge

The Yichun Curling Hall required professional indoor lighting for the 2012 international women’s curling invitational. For a competitive curling venue, the lighting needed to provide clear and uniform illumination across the playing area while controlling glare that could affect athletes during the match.

Our Approach

We provided a 300W LED high bay lighting solution using CREE LED chips and anti-glare optical lenses. The lighting system was designed to distribute light evenly across the curling venue while reducing direct glare, creating a clearer and more comfortable visual environment for competition.

Project Requirements

Uniform Illumination Anti-Glare Lighting Clear Visibility Reliable Performance
Distribute light evenly across the curling playing area. Reduce direct glare that could distract athletes during competition. Provide clear illumination for players, officials and spectators. Deliver stable lighting throughout the indoor sporting event.

Our Lighting Solution

This LED high bay light combines high-efficiency CREE LED chips, an anti-glare optical lens, and a thickened heat sink. The design provides bright, uniform illumination while reducing glare and managing heat, making it a practical curling arena lighting solution for large indoor sports venues.

The project uses 300W LED high bay lights designed to provide high-output illumination for the indoor curling venue.

Each fixture uses CREE LED chips with a luminous efficacy of 150 lm/W. Anti-glare PC lenses help control direct glare and distribute the light more evenly across the playing area.

With a 4000K color temperature and CRI above 80, the lighting provides clear visibility while maintaining a comfortable visual environment for athletes, officials and spectators.

Why This Configuration?

300W LED High Bay Lighting

The 300W LED high bay fixtures provide the high-output illumination required for a large indoor sports venue while supporting consistent lighting across the playing area.

Anti-Glare Optical Design

Anti-glare lenses help reduce direct glare from overhead fixtures, helping prevent distracting light from interfering with athletes during competition.

Uniform Light Distribution

The optical system distributes light more evenly across the curling area, reducing excessively bright or dark areas and improving visual consistency across the playing surface.

4000K Clear White Light

The 4000K color temperature provides clear, neutral-white illumination suitable for an indoor sporting environment, while a CRI above 80 supports natural visibility of the playing area and surrounding environment.
